This site's purpose is to provide links and information to all aupairs interested in learning about Washington DC, meeting other aupairs in the DC, MD, and VA areas, and getting to know OUR GROUP: The DC Area Aupairs and Friends Social Group. This will also provide as a "newsletter" to our existing members.
We started this network about 4 years ago. In the past year so many members have devoted so much time and energy that this was transformed from a mere club to a huge family. And that's what we're all about: we're the SOCIAL "host" family. No kids to take care of, no classes to attend. We do the FUN stuff. And Oh yes, we PARTY! So, the creation of this site became inevitable as the phone calls on weekends became unbearable. Now we have a NEWS section where we can post events, upcoming events and introduce newbees. This will be updated on a weekly basis.
Much of what we do on weekends are get togethers, sharing cultures and cultural differences, exchanging ethnic recipes, showing family and vacation photos, and if nothing else, listening to CDs over cold pizzas and warm beers :) When the weather is nice we do the leisurely stuff: cookouts, outdoor activities, and pool parties. Games... lots of games, some we just invent on the spot. - Anything in the name of FUN!
Though this is a social group, we are always willing to provide support and counsel to the best of our abilities. Feel free to contact us regarding any question or concern you may have and one of use will surely get back with you.
If you are from another state and/or just visiting the Washington area, look us up, we'd love to party with you and show you around. Please contact us ahead of time.
